About CedarBill

Learn what CedarBill builds, who its tools are for, and the principles behind its calculators, templates, and educational content.

Last updated: 2026-07-13

CedarBill is a browser-based toolkit for freelancers, contractors, consultants, creators, and small businesses. It combines a practical invoice generator with focused calculators and guides for common billing and freelance-money questions.

What we build

  • A no-sign-up invoice generator with PDF, Word, and spreadsheet export options.
  • Salary, markup, 1099 tax, net terms, and sales tax estimation tools.
  • Invoice templates and examples for different professions and document styles.
  • Educational guides and a glossary for invoicing and business-finance terms.

What CedarBill is not

CedarBill is not an accounting firm, tax adviser, payroll provider, or law firm. Calculator results are estimates based on the inputs and assumptions shown on each page. They should not replace advice from a qualified professional or guidance from the relevant tax authority.

Our publishing principles

We aim to make every page useful without requiring an account or hiding the result behind a form. Calculations should expose their assumptions, factual claims should link to a primary or clearly identified source, and material updates should include a review date.

Content and tools are reviewed under the CedarBill Editorial Team identity. Our detailed calculation, sourcing, correction, and review process is available on the Methodology and Sources page.

Privacy by design

The main invoice editor works in the browser. Invoice drafts may be saved in local browser storage so users can continue their work, but the public generator is designed to work without creating an account. See the Privacy Policy for the current data practices.
